Tharoor too met Gandhi and reportedly maintained that he may have expressed the Congress’ factors of view if he was allowed to attend the seminar. “I respect her (Sonia Gandhi’s’) views on this matter and have conveyed to the organisers my lack of ability to take part,” Tharoor later stated in an announcement.
After PCC chief Ok Sudhakaran publicly requested Tharoor, a part of the change-seekers’ group, to not attend the CPM programme. Tharoor had stated he would search Gandhi’s permission.
